چکیده

AIM: To evaluate and compare the anatomical functional outcomes negative effects of three anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) drugs in treatment macular edema (ME) due to retinal vein occlusion (RVO) based on evidence pooled from current clinical trials observational studies. METHODS: A systematic literature search was conducted nine online databases inception until April 30, 2022. The main endpoints were best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), central thickness (CMT), adverse events (AEs). Cumulative Meta-analysis synthesize drugs. retrieved data analyzed using Stata software (version 12.0). RESULTS: total 20 studies comprising 1674 eyes met inclusion criteria Meta-analysis. It observed that conbercept aflibercept had better compared with ranibizumab at 1mo [weight mean difference (WMD)=-0.03, P=0.001; WMD=-0.05, P=0.019], but not different 6mo. Moreover, there statistically significant proportion patients gaining ≥15 letters 12-24mo between [odds ratio (OR)=1.16, P=0.427]. Conbercept higher CMT change (WMD= -14.43, P=0.014) 6mo (WMD=-35.63, P≤0.001) ranibizumab. Meanwhile, (WMD=-10.14, P=0.170), (WMD=-26.98, P=0.140) (WMD=-12.34, P=0.071) comparable among groups. Similarly, AEs significantly treatments (OR=0.75, P=0.305; OR=1.04, P=0.89). stability effect size BCVA improved increase sample size. Aflibercept required fewer injections CONCLUSION: This is first study efficacy intravitreal administration conbercept, ranibizumab, RVO-ME. Intravitreal or results vision reduction can be considered a promising innovative drug good anti-VEGF effects.

Safety and Efficacy of Ranibizumab in Macular Edema following Retinal Vein Occlusion

Macular edema is the leading cause of visual impairment in patients with retinal vein occlusion. Limited improvements may be obtained with laser photocoagulation or intravitreal triamcinolone. However, according to the data provided by randomized clinical trials, intravitreal injections of ranibizumab (Lucentis; Genentech, South San Francisco, CA) constitute a new effective and safe option for ...

Role of aflibercept for macular edema following branch retinal vein occlusion: comparison of clinical trials

For years, the standard of care for branch-retinal-vein-occlusion-associated macular edema was initial observation followed by grid-pattern laser photocoagulation for persistent edema. Newer pharmacologic options have revolutionized the management of branch-retinal-vein-occlusion-associated macular edema, and the visual outcomes of these eyes are better than ever. However, a variety of availabl...
